Winner announced in competition to find the nation’s favourite dogs at work

A two-year-old dog, Anca, has been named the UK’s most pawfessional employee, posing in a smart shirt and tie while taking on some tricky calculations.

Pet owners across the UK shared hilarious images of their dogs at work as part of a nationwide competition by office furniture suppliers, Furniture At Work. The owner of the UK’s most pawfessional employee was promised a £200 Amazon voucher to spend on themselves or their furry four-legged colleague.

After over 50 incredible entries, choosing a winner wasn’t easy, but Anca with the complete ‘work from home’ look ran out a worthy winner…

1.     Anca, 2, Mixed Breed

Anca, a mixed breed from Aberdeen, has been crowned the UK’s most pawfessional employee, posing at a computer in a smart shirt and tie while taking on some tricky calculations. She has the complete ‘work from home’ look and likes to make herself known on Teams calls, using her playful charm to lift the mood when her co-workers are feeling low. Anca is a worthy winner and has requested the £200 Amazon voucher be spent on treats and chew toys for her lunch break.

We had so many great entries , it wouldn’t be fair of us not to share some of the runners up. All these pooches make their workplace a better place and should be proud of their efforts.

2.     Sven, 2 months, Golden Retriever

This is Sven, and he was only a couple of months old when this was taken. Even at a young age Sven understood the importance of staying pawfessional, wearing a smart striped tie on his first day meeting his new colleagues.

3.     Frankie, 11, Border Terrier X

Frankie has nearly three years’ experience working as her owner’s office manager. Her responsibilities mainly involve barging into their home office when it’s time for a play, treat or walk. While third place is very impressive, Frankie was hoping to spend the £200 on some headphones that fit her.

4.     Parsley, 15, Cockapoo

Parsley comes with his owner to the office every day. He is one of their longest serving employees and isn’t shy when it comes to modelling products. Parsley is one of the finest salesmen in his area and balloon sales skyrocketed after this picture was taken.

5.      Goose, 18 months, Cocker X Colley

Goose’s hard work and dedication over the years has earned him the position of Chief Operations Pawfficer. He is always on hand to help his team whenever they need some support, accepting belly scratches and dog treats for his time.

6.     Zeus, Staffy X American Bulldog

This is Zeus, who works on a building site with his owner. Zeus understands the importance of safety and never goes anywhere without his high vis.

7.    Louis, Dachshund, 3

Louis is always on hand to make sure no one is having a ruff day. His responsibilities at work involve running team meetings and attending brainstorms, although most of his ideas involve long walks and dog treats.

8.    Nina, Bichon Frise

Nina joins her owner in the office every Saturday. When people visit, her friendly nature helps win new sales for the company. Her positive attitude and willingness to work weekends is an example to us all.

9.    Coco, Dachshund, 9

Coco is a gentle soul who works hard to keep the finance department away. You will find her sitting on her favourite red blanket, ready to support her colleagues in any way she can.

10. Watson, Basset

Watson has been described as a lovable rogue. He likes to read while his owner works from home and won’t do anything he doesn’t want to. Watson’s main responsibility is reminding everyone when it’s lunchtime, something he takes very seriously.

A spokesperson from Furniture At Work commented:

“It’s no surprise office dogs are becoming more common in offices post pandemic, as spending time with our furry, four legged colleagues can improve moral and encourage bonding. We launched the competition to find the UK’s favourite dogs at work, and it did not disappoint. There were so many hilarious entrees, but Anca’s shirt, tie and professional attitude makes her a worthy winner.”
