Star Welsh athlete Christian Malcolm is appearing on BBC One’s Celebrity Mastermind at 7pm on December 29th and has selected Action for Children as his chosen charity.
The former sprinter has chosen Olympic sprinting as his specialist subject and will appear alongside actor Vincent Franklin, BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Chris Warburton and comedian Graham Fellows, aka John Shuttleworth.
Christian, 36, said: “It’s a great honour to appear on such a prestigious show. I’ll be in the famous black chair facing John Humphreys’ questions on sprinting so the pressure is on as people will assume I should be an expert. It’ll be great fun and I’m really looking forward to representing Action for Children as I am very familiar with the great work they do for vulnerable children in Wales and across the UK.
“Christmas should be a wonderful time for children and through its fostering and family centre services Action for Children goes the extra mile in making sure thousands of children who are less privileged are well cared for at this time of year.
Matt Lewis, children’s placement manager at Action for Children’s Fostering Wales service, said: “Having Christian choose Action for Children is a great honour. He is very aware of the value of the services we provide so to have his support on Celebrity Mastermind is wonderful. We’re very grateful to Christian for choosing us at this special time of year for families.”
