The pandemic was a really tough time for lots of people, finding themselves separated from their loved ones but it was especially hard for one of Wiltshire Farm Foods’ customers, Cardiff-based Diane Littlejohn.

Admitted to hospital in January 2021 after contracting Covid, Diane spent time in intensive care in a coma and on a ventilator. This was obviously an extremely worrying time for her family and especially for her grandchildren who couldn’t visit their favourite person, Nannie.

After a long four months, Diane was released from hospital but continued to experience long Covid symptoms. This meant she wasn’t able to run around with her grandchildren like she used to before she caught the virus.

Deserving of some much-needed sunshine in her life, Diane entered Wiltshire Farm Foods’ ‘Bringing Sunshine’ competition which gives its customers the opportunity to share an experience they would love to have, no matter how big or small. The ready meal provider set about arranging a trip to the theatre for her and her grandchildren for some quality family time.

Joanne Davis manager of the Cwmbran branch, says:

“Covid really did show us all that you never know what is around the corner. We love being able to bring sunshine to our customers and when we received Diane’s email, we knew we had to make her wish come true.”

After several rescheduled trips (again, due to Covid), Wiltshire Farm Foods organised for Diane, her daughter-in-law Athena and all five of her grandchildren to watch the Lion King at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff:

“This experience really has brought me sunshine. It meant the world to finally go to the theatre with all my grandchildren after such a traumatic time apart from them.”
