Admission to the National Botanic Garden of Wales is FREE in January so why not enjoy a winter visit?

There’s so much to do under cover, it will be a great day out whatever the weather.

Apart from our four ‘event’ weekends (when there is a nominal £3 admission charge), it is absolutely free to visit throughout the month. The opening times are 10am-4.30pm every day – including New Year’s Day!

The special weekends begin on January 9-10 with our ever-popular Antiques Weekend, organised by Derwen Fairs. The highlights include fine Welsh art and pottery, quality jewellery and 17thcentury Welsh oak furniture.

It’s Woodcraft Weekend on January 16-17 when wood-turners, lovespoon-carvers, stick-makers, power tools suppliers and pyrography experts gather in the Garden to show off their skills and their wares.

The weekend of the 23rd and 24th is the date of our January Food Fair when a host of local food and drink producers get together in the stunning surrounds of Lord Foster’s Great Glasshouse to offer tasty, local treats to try and to buy.

Snowdrop Weekend, on January 30-31, will be a celebration of everyone’s favourite spring flower. There will be plenty to catch the attention both of the galanthophile and the casual observer amid the expert walks, special talks, trails, and fun family activities.

There is plenty of free parking at the Garden
