The Wales national football team is just weeks away from playing at the second World Cup in the country’s history, and the first in 64 years.
Kicking off in Group B against the USA, followed by Iran and finally, fierce rivals England, Wales’ World Cup prospects have never looked brighter with one of the strongest Welsh teams of all time.
While experienced winners such as Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey will be looking to recreate the magic of Euro 2016, plenty of new exciting Welsh international stars will be hungry for success in Qatar.
Plus, with national treasure Gareth Bale taking off to play his football in the USA with Los Angeles FC, a space has opened up for the next biggest Welsh star in Europe.
With this in mind, betting.com has shared the names of five of the best Welsh talents playing in Europe right now, ahead of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

At just 21 years of age, Neco Williams is already an experienced Wales international with 23 appearances and 2 goals under his belt.
Traditionally playing as a right-back, the versatile Williams can also be deployed further up the pitch as a right-winger, and on occasion has even featured on the other flank as a left-back or left-winger.
Coming through Liverpool’s world-class academy system, the Wrexham-born footballer decided to leave Anfield behind this summer in favour of more regular first-team football at newly promoted Premier League club, Nottingham Forest.
- Brennan Johnson – Nottingham Forest

A storm of Welsh talent is quietly brewing at Nottingham Forest, with 21-year-old striker Brennan Johnson also representing the Premier League side.
Forward-thinking Johnson had his breakout season last year, scoring 16 times in 46 appearances for Nottingham Forest as they were promoted from the Championship, and Johnson has kept up his goal-scoring habits in the Premier League, scoring twice in six games.
Interestingly, Johnson had represented England up until under-17s level before deciding to switch allegiances to Wales, making England’s loss Wales’ gain.
- Ben Davies – Tottenham Hotspur

A rock in defence for Tottenham Hotspur in both the Premier League and Champions League, the steady and reliable head of Ben Davies has also proved invaluable for the Wales national team.
Able to play at both centre-back and left-back, Davies has made 74 appearances so far for Wales and was part of the squad that made it to the Euro 2016 semi-final stage.
- Joe Rodon – Rennes (on loan from Tottenham Hotspur)

A mainstay in Wales’ defence in recent years, centre-back Joe Rodon’s career has been revitalised by a loan move to Rennes in France’s Ligue 1.
After making 15 Premier League appearances for Tottenham Hotspur over the last two seasons, Swansea-born Rodon now finds himself at the heart of a Rennes side who are pushing for Champions League qualification themselves this season.
- Aaron Ramsey – OGC Nice

Welsh football is taking over France this season, with legendary midfielder Aaron Ramsey also moving to Ligue1 to represent OGC Nice.
Few Welsh footballers have enjoyed a club career as decorated as Ramsey, who was part of the squad that reached the Euro 2016 semi-final, six years ago.
After making over 200 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League, 31-year-old Ramsey has also represented Italian giants, Juventus, and last season featured for Rangers in the Europa League final.
