With the difficulties of the weather in Britain over the weekend we decided
to postpone our first friendly with the GB Police last Sunday, this was a
mutual agreement amongst both sides as it would be beneficial if we played
it just before the 2016 season began.
Each week we like to dedicate a day where we all meet up to discuss
everything rugby league and there was no better day to start than Monday as
we welcomed back our Head coach Jon Ellis who had been away for a short
spell with super league club Hull Kingston Rovers. During his time up north
Jon had built a fantastic working relationship in linking the West Wales
Raiders with the Super League club. All of our hard work and professionalism
that we had been working on over the last couple of months seemed to be
paying off as this was a great way to begin the week.
As the week continued so did the positivity as local actor Carwyn Glynn who
is well known for his role in the Welsh-language television soap opera which
is produced by the BBC became a club ambassador for 2016. Carwyn will help
with promoting the club and will also be at a few events and home games this
season
As a club we believe that our supporters are a very important part of the
West Wales Raiders so we decided to meet up with our kit suppliers Picton
Sports to create a brand new range for the supporters to purchase, all of
these will be on sale on our brand new online shop
www.raidersrugbyleague.co.uk very soon.
This weekend sees no fixtures but our junior section shall be training at
Trimsaran Leisure Centre on Saturday morning, if you are aged between
13-16 and would like to come along please contact myself on 07772949956.
