There were plenty of happy smiling faces at Cynheidre last weekend when Santa made his annual visit to the railway. With unlimited train rides, a visit to Santa in his grotto, seasonal refreshments, plus a Christmas crafts market there was lots of fun for the whole family. Don’t worry if you missed him – he will be back again on the weekend of 17th and 18th December, although ticket sales have been strong so pre-booking is advised:

Santa will be making a return visit to the Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway at Cynheidre on the weekend of 17th and 18th December with train rides for all, a gift for each child and seasonal refreshments. Cynheidre is just five miles from Llanelli on the B4309 road.
- Train rides will operate between 10.00am and 3.00pm on each day featuring our popular and specially decorated class 142 Pacer railcar
- Santa will be with us in his grotto from 10.00am until 3pm daily with a gift for each child
- Ticket price includes the train ride, a visit to Santa with a gift for each child and a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie for each adult. Other seasonal refreshments will be available
- Children under 2 years of age can visit Santa for a small supplement
- There will be a number of craft stalls on site featuring locally produced gifts
Fares start from £9.99 per person which includes the train ride, a visit to Santa plus a present for each child and seasonal refreshments for the Adults. A family ticket is also available.
The new Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway is based at Cynheidre near Llanelli on the site of the old Cynheidre Colliery. Our trains run on part of the old Llanelli Tramroad, one of the oldest railways in the world!
Important Covid Safe information: Hand sanitiser stations are located around the railway, including on the train for your safety.

The railway is a charity run totally by volunteers.
