You want to look like a bronzed goddess, but you must learn to apply self-tanner properly to achieve it. If you’ve never tried self-tanning before, you might want to prepare yourself with a few essentials first. You can get started with a tanning mitt, headband, moisturizer, and exfoliant.

Consider what kind of tan you want to put on your skin. The desired outcome for your skin should be based on your decision. You can match your skin type with one of the easy self tanning range selections. Use a gradual glowing self-tan for a gradual color shift that still looks natural and classy, or go for a dark glowing self-tan for a bolder, deeper-looking tan. Use these tips for your first self-tanning experience:

1. Always Prepare Your Skin

If you put self-tanning on dry skin, it might not cover your skin evenly. So, exfoliate your skin. Self-tanning can get into your pores, so exfoliate and wax the day before tanning. If you’re short on time, you can wait for one hour.

2. Never Forget To Hydrate Your Skin

Putting a thin layer of moisturizer on your knuckles, inner wrists, elbows, knees, and feet, concentrating on heels. You can ensure that your tan looks natural and doesn’t leave any lines.

3. Proper Application Technique

Wear tanning mittens to protect your palm and a headband to protect your hair. Tan your skin by applying a small quantity of tanning lotion to the center of your mitt and rubbing it into your skin in circular motions. It should begin with your feet and gradually climb to a higher level, adding more product as needed.

For a polished but natural look, mix self-tanning foam moisturizer and put it on your face, hands, inner arms, and knees. The self-tanning foam is best for beginners.

4. Must-Dos After Getting Tanned

If you’ve just applied a self-tan, give it a few hours before getting dressed. The tight clothes on your newly tanned skin are inadvisable, so baggy clothing is recommended. Self-tanning takes up to 8 hours for color, meaning you can wash off excess dye in the shower. To seal in color, pat the skin dry and add moisturizer.

Sun-Kissed Your Skin With Self-Tanning

Spending the day in the sun may seem like a satisfaction to get yourself tanned, healthy, glowing skin. But self-tanning is a faster and safer way to get a sun-kissed look, whether for a light glow or a bronzed babe effect.
