The 2016 event, featuring prominent speakers and guests from around the world, will be held in Athens, Greece on Saturday, March 26th, 2016

Recognized as the largest grassroots social movement in the world with chapters in over 60 Countries, The Zeitgeist Movement announces its 8th annual ‘Zeitgeist Day’  (“ZDay”) global awareness campaign. The main event will be held in Athens, Greece at the Danaos Theater, March 26th, 2016. The main event also occurs in tandem with numerous parallel, sister events occurring around the globe in the same weekend. Prior main events have been documented by news agencies, including the New York Times and Huffington Post, with speakers and attendees coming from around the world to discuss the state of society and how to improve it.

The daylong 2016 symposium will address some of the most pressing social issues of our time, with key lectures from TZM founder Peter Joseph, journalist Abby MartinGeorgios Papanikolaou of the P2P Foundation, Peter Gruber of Copiosis and more.

Focusing on transitioning society into one of post-scarcity, emphasizing social and environmental justice, the topics of discussion will include the role of technology, the latest understandings in public health science, critical factors for sustainability, transition steps such as universal basic income, and the structural incapacity of market capitalism to address current problems, holding progress back. The purpose of The Zeitgeist Movement is to assist global transition into a new social model based upon the pursuit of social equality, sustainability and abundance.
