New Llanelli Business Venture

A Llanelli business has been helped to set up new venture in the county thanks to the South West Wales Property Development Fund.

Davies Richards Llys Aur Ltd has been set up by Davies Richards Developments Ltd to develop and manage the building of a 5,000 square foot and 3,000 square foot industrial units at Llys Aur at the Llanelli Gate business hub in Dafen. The PDF is providing funding of £361,000 towards the costs.

Director Carwyn Davies said: “We have been working well with the Property Development Fund team and it is good to see how the PDF is delivering schemes in Carmarthenshire. The site at Llys Aur has easy access from the M4 motorway and is an ideal base for businesses in the county.”

Cllr Clive Scourfield said: “It is good news that the South West Wales Property Development Fund has been able to help bring about this venture to provide industrial space at Llanelli Gate which is a major hub for business in Carmarthenshire with the advantage of excellent transport links.”

The South West Wales Property Development Fund (PDF) has been part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.

This regional scheme is being led by Carmarthenshire County Council in partnership with City and County of Swansea, Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, Pembrokeshire County Council and the Welsh Government.

The scheme has been up and running since 2009 and over the next couple of months it is hoped to award £8.6m in gap funding for office and industrial developments across the region.

The programme aims to target speculative developments and priority will be given to applications that will provide tangible benefits to the local economy in terms of jobs, premises created, and the number of small and medium enterprises accommodated.
