People looking to make their home cosier and cheaper to run should pop in to Llanelli Indoor Market this Friday.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s housing and environmental health teams will be on hand from 10am-3pm giving out lots of useful information and advice to mark Fuel Poverty Awareness Day and the Nation’s Biggest Housewarming event.
The authority’s energy efficiency advisor will be available to answer people’s questions, and the team will be letting people know about various schemes they can use to bring down their home energy costs.
There will also be boiler safety advice, and a limited number of free carbon monoxide alarms which will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis.
Whilst mums, dads and grandparents are busy getting energy tips, younger children can meet Ches – the council’s endangered polar bear – who will be visiting throughout the day to chat and pose for selfies.
Cllr Linda Evans, Executive Board Member for Housing, said: “Everyone would like to save money on their energy bills, so if you’re heading to town on Friday, pop in to the Llanelli Indoor Market and meet our team who will be happy to help you.
“As well as advising on simple changes you could make around the home, we can also let you know about various schemes, such as the Cyd Cymru collective energy switch, or fuel clubs for people who use oil central heating.”
