With it officially being springtime, many people will be dreaming of spending their free time in a picture-perfect sunny location as the days get longer and temperatures rise.

To help with this, Stelrad (https://www.stelrad.com/) has officially crowned where you’ll find the most picturesque destinations in the UK! 

To uncover the data, Stelrad collated a list of 82 picturesque villages and towns nationwide, creating a defined ranking based on Instagram hashtag data – of which 6 are in Wales with a combined hashtag popularity on Instagram of 1,571,880!

Solva in Pembrokeshire is crowned Wales’s prettiest destination for a spring visit with a staggering 379,719 Instagram hashtags, placing 4th overall in the UK. With its stunning natural beauty and historic charm, it’s easy to see why this would be a popular picturesque place. Nestled at the mouth of the Solva River, it is surrounded by rolling hills, lush green fields and stunning coastal views, the charming streets are lined with quaint cottages, shops, pubs and galleries, and the harbour itself is a peaceful spot to enjoy the views of the sea.

Aberaeron in Ceredigion is the second most picturesque location in Wales and is 4th in the UK. With 371,346 Instagram hashtags, it’s easy to see why this is a popular place. With its stunning scenery and charming harbour, this town is situated on the Cardigan Bay coast and has a pretty Georgian harbour lined with brightly coloured houses. It is also home to the National Wool Museum and the Aberaeron Festival, which both contribute to its unique culture and history.

Wales’s third most picturesque location is Tenby, and 7th in the ranking nationwide, with 326,042 tags by Instagrammers. The town is surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and lush rolling hills, making it a great spot for exploring the outdoors. It also has a vibrant harbour with an array of colourful boats, which is perfect for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront. And let’s not forget that Tenby is also home to some historic sites, including a medieval castle and a 16th-century fort, making it the perfect location for all!
