Scarlets made a strong start against Benetton Treviso, at Parc y Scarlets, with the first score of the game coming after 13 minutes through a try man of the match Steff Evans.

Captain Hadleigh Parkes did well to gain yards and stay on his feet long enough for support to arrive and when the ball was moved to Steffan Evans, the wing beat four defenders on his way to a glorious score under the posts – leaving Aled Thomas with a simple conversion.

Evans said: “I saw all the open space and just went for it. I didn’t think I’d make it but it was nice to get the try!”

Evans’ second try, scored on the 71st minute, gave Scarlets breathing space after Regan King and captain Hadleigh Parkes showed quick hands putting the winger in good space to beat defenders and cross the whitewash.

He went on to say: “It was a close second half but then to get the win at the end was just we needed especially after last week.

“There was a lot of open space and to bag the two tries was great. It was tough going into the second half but a win’s a win at the end of the day. We’ll look at what we need to work on ahead of the next game.”

Scarlets will return to the Parc on Saturday 2nd April to take on Cardiff Blues before the final home game of the season on Saturday 16th April against Glasgow Warriors.
