Over 90 School of Education students from Aberystwyth University joined Council staff for a ‘Find your Future’ day held at the University on 26 April 2023.

Councillor Bryan Davies is the Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member responsible for Democratic Services, Policy, Performance and People and Organisation. He said: “It is very positive to see our relationship with Aberystwyth University continue to thrive. We will look to further develop collaborative working with the University and ensure students are aware of the great career opportunities available to them within the Council.”

Geraint Edwards, Corporate Lead Officer for People & Organisation, said: “This is a great piece of collaborative working between the Council and the University. The Council wants to attract and retain the talent these students bring to Ceredigion. Our aim is to showcase career opportunities and let students hear from our specialists about the day-to-day work involved in these careers.”

Debbie Ayriss, Learning & Development Manager said: “The students were fantastic to work with and the feedback we received is that this event opened their eyes to types of jobs they were not aware of. We had a lot of interest in volunteering opportunities and its fantastic that so many students appreciate how volunteering can help them on their career pathway.”
