Monmouth and Chepstow have been highlighted as two of the best places to visit in the UK for a relaxing staycation, according to a new study from ARRAN Sense of Scotland: https://arran.com/blogs/news/where-to-go-for-the-uk-s-most-relaxing-staycations
The brand compared 100 different towns and villages, using data from 9 different criteria including accommodation costs, activities, weather, light and noise pollution, to create a ranking of the UK’s most relaxing staycations.
Monmouth came in 18th place, with a score of 63.2 out of 100, while Chepstow came in 25th, with a score of 61.8. Both scored highly for fans of hiking, with visitors having access to 34 scenic trails in Monmouth and 41 in Chepstow. They also both ranked highly for weather, with Monmouth having just 121 rainy days per year and Chepstow enjoyng an average of 1,658 hours of sunshine.
