A MAN has been fined for littering after a witness came forward and reported it to the council.
He was seen throwing litter from his car in the Tycroes area and a witness took down the registration number and reported it to the environmental enforcement unit.
As a result, they were able to trace the owner of the car who admitted the offence and was issued with a fixed penalty notice for £75.
Now people are being urged to help clean up the county by reporting any incidents either online or by phone.
Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “Keeping Carmarthenshire clean is a key priority for the council; however, we cannot do it alone, we need the help of the public.
“Any reports made will be investigated by officers and fines will be issued to the culprits.”
Offences can be reported online at ilocal.carmarthenshire.gov.wales or by calling 01267 234567.
