New data reveals the areas of the UK Googling for money and financial help the most.
The data compiled by CMC Markets, analysed numerous search terms related to financial help across every UK area to establish which areas are the most worried about their money.
Wrexham took the top spot, with 7,767 average monthly searches per 100K residents made in regard to financial help and advice. Interestingly, Wrexham residents Googled the term for financial assistance on student finance more than any other type of financial help.
Walsall ranks second. Residents in Walsall search for terms related to financial help at a rate of 7,127 monthly searches per 100K residents. Georgia’s most Googled term in relation to financial help is ‘tax help near me’.
In third place is Cardiff, with 4,959 average monthly searches being made per 100K residents. Cardiff searched for the term ‘debt help’ more than any other term in relation to financial support.
The area searching at the fourth highest rate for financial help is Swansea, with 4,345 monthly searches per 100K residents – just slightly lower than Cardiff. Swansea residents are searching for financial help on student finance more than anything else, just like Wrexham residents.
Norwich ranks fifth with Norwich residents making 4,257 monthly searches per 100K for terms related to their finances. Norwich residents top search term is ‘how to get financial help’.
Wigan residents search for financial help at a rate of 4,049 monthly searches per 100K, meaning the area ranks sixth. Wigan residents search the most for the term ‘need help paying bills’ more than any other term.
Lincoln follows behind in seventh, with 3,792 searches made per 100K each month for terms related to financial support with their top searched term being ‘how to get financial aid’. Liverpool ranks eighth out of all UK areas when it comes to searching for financial help. Liverpool residents search for financial help at a rate of 3,690 monthly searches made per 100K residents.
Mansfield and Bath round out the top ten respectively. In Mansfield, there are 3,496 searches per 100K residents made each month for money help, with the top searched term being ‘fix credit score’, whilst in Bath, there are 3,420 monthly searches made per 100K with the top searched term in the area being ‘financial advisor’.
