Carew Castle is set to welcome dogs and their human companions from near and far this month to join the pack at its annual Doggy Day Out.
The event, which is sponsored by Burns Pet Nutrition, is one of the highlights of the calendar at the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority-run attraction, which is dog friendly all year round.
Doggy Day Out will include a range of stalls with treats for dogs and people. Canine visitors will be able to test their prowess with an agility course, while their human friends will appreciate the fun ‘dogalikes trail’ around the picturesque Millpond. The main feature of the day will be a free dog show with enough categories to allow every dog and their owner to shine, from ‘Best Junior Handler’ to ‘Looks Most Like Owner’.
Carew Castle Manager Daisy Hughes said: “We look forward to welcoming our four-legged guests to this popular event and are especially proud to be working with Burns, a natural, high quality pet food company based in Wales, who will be supplying prizes for each dog show category, including Best in Show.
“Nest Tearoom will also be open from 10.30am to 4pm, selling a delicious range of treats for humans – and a few for dogs too!”
Carew’s Doggy Day Out will take place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 15 July. Normal Castle admission fees apply and there will be a small charge for some activities.
