The Welsh Government has confirmed a decision will made over the Cleddau Bridge tolls following the conclusions of a review of the impact of the tolls on businesses in Pembrokeshire.

The Transport Minister Edwina Hart has indicated her officials are finalising their report on the issue. A decision will be made according to their recommendations.

The report came following pressure by Plaid Cymru’s Simon Thomas.

Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire candidate for the Party of Wales Simon Thomas said:

“Plaid Cymru has been calling for change and to boost local businesses by scrapping the Cleddau Bridge tolls. I’m glad that our campaign has been successful in getting the Welsh Government to review the impact of the tolls on firms in Pembrokeshire.

“I’ve consistently highlighted this issue in the National Assembly and my team organised a public meeting in Pembroke Dock to keep pushing for change.

“The Milford Haven enterprise zone is the only zone where you have to pay a toll to go from one part of the enterprise zone to another. We need a new Plaid Cymru Welsh Government to scrap the tolls.”
