Sustrans launches new web portal to celebrate Visit Wales’ weekend of adventure. Wales is jam-packed with exhilarating sites to explore and has a range of activities to offer from biking the towering mountains of Snowdonia to experiencing the breath-taking coastline in West Wales.

There’s no better way to celebrate Visit Wales’ Great Weekend of Adventure in order to #FindYourEpic than starting your adventure by bike. Sustrans has highlighted some epic adventure sites that can be reached by bike on the National Cycle Network.

  1. Looking for excitement? Experience the thrill of climbing, abseiling and ziplining, all three can be done at Absolute Adventure. You can use the traffic-free sections of the Swansea Valley route to get there and make a day of it.
  2. Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre has something for everyone from mountain biking, wonderful family walks, and safaris. Explore the beautiful countryside of Afan via Route 887.
  3. Interested in astrology? The Elan Valley Trail will lead you to a delightful estate that’s open to stargazers. The Elan Valley Estate was awarded its status by the International Dark Sky Association due to its exceptional starry skies and natural nocturnal habitat. A unique experience for all.
  4. The Bay Trail in Cardiff will take you to the International Sports Village where you can take your pick of an array of white water activities from white water rafting, surfing, gorge scrambling and river boarding. A guaranteed adrenaline boost for all who dare.
  5. Witness the wonderful wildlife of the Menai Strait. You can get there either from the incredible isle of Anglesey or the stunning North Wales Coastal Path.

To enhance your bike adventure around Wales, Sustrans has created a cycling adventure App, Celtic Tales.  Download this App to plan your journey and to discover tales of captivating history and enchanting fiction whilst cycling along key paths in Wales.
