Thomas; “We want to finish season on a high,”

Scarlets’ Guinness PRO12 clash against Glasgow Warriors, at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday 16^th April, has been hitting the headlines over the last 24 hours as the region’s squad has been hit by a sickness virus but the Scarlets are determined to go out on a high note in the last home game of the season.

Outside half Aled Thomas says the side would be devastated to miss out on a top four spot after being in the mix throughout the season.

He said: “It would be devastating to be in the top four all season and drop out at last minute. The boys desperately want to finish the season on a high and who knows then from there.”

Glasgow are the in-form side in the PRO12 currently on a winning run and have overtaken Scarlets in the table.

Thoms went on to say; “We’ve played them three times already this year, we know how tough a team they are and they’re defending champions. We have a big challenge in front of us; we’ve shown in the past that we’re capable of beating the best sides.

“If we get our performance right on the day we can beat anyone, especially on our own patch with a crowd behind us. There’s no reason why we can’t go and get the win we desperately need to stay in the top four.

“We’ve only lost two league games at home this season, we disappointed the fans last week with our performance and we really need to step up to the mark now for each other and for the fans aswell for this last home game to put us in a good position.

“We set our goals last season, top four was one of our aims for this season. As a club, we obviously want to get as far up the table as possible, even try and get a home draw for the club. We’re still on course to get top four but these next few games are huge for us.

“We’re taking one game at a time. We’re not looking too far ahead. We want to keep it in our own hands.”
