- To complete the restoration of this nationally significant historic parkland the Garden has successfully obtained funding from theHeritage Lottery Fund and others. The project “Middleton: Paradise Regained – Restoring a Regency Rarity” started in January 2015 and will have completed the original vision for the botanic garden, including the restoration of the parkland’s series of romantic features including dramatic cascades, waterfalls and fountains, linked by twisting footpaths and rustic bridges, leading to limpid pools, woodland glades, and captivating views, by 2020
- The Middleton Hall waterpark was created in the 1790s by British Empire nabob, Sir William Paxton who, at the time, was one of the richest men in Britain.
