Hensol Castle Distillery, one of the UK’s premier craft distilleries situated in the heart of South Wales, was featured on the hit television show “Billericay to Barry” on UKTV Gold. The show stars renowned British actors Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb, best known for their roles in the iconic British series “Gavin and Stacey”.
During their journey from Billericay to Barry Island, the actors stopped by award winning Hensol Castle Distillery where Alison was keen to create her very own craft gin.
Kyle Jones, the Head Distiller at Hensol Castle Distillery, said: “It was a wonderful experience hosting Alison Steadman, Larry Lamb and the filming crew. They brought a lot of fun and enthusiasm to our distillery, and it was a pleasure to see them immerse themselves in the art of gin-making. We’re thrilled to be featured in a programme that will be watched by people across the nation.”
Viewers have clearly been inspired by Alison and Larry’s visit as distillery tour and gin making bookings rose by 60% overnight compared to the same time scale in the previous month.
Featuring on “Billericay to Barry” places Hensol Castle Distillery firmly on the map for visitors looking for unique experiences in South Wales. The distillery, nestled within the historic Grade 1 listed Hensol Castle and surrounded by 650 acres of stunning Welsh countryside, offers an unparalleled craft distillery experience.
Hensol Castle Distillery offers visitors the chance to book their own distillery tour, where they can explore the rich history and modern innovation that characterise this one-of-a-kind venue. Most excitingly, guests can make their own custom gin just like Steadman and Lamb. In addition, the distillery also offers cocktail masterclasses.
