Patrick along with 12 other animals were rescued in North Wales
Can you purrr-lease help us find a special home forĀ Patrick?
Domestic Shorthair crossbreed Patrick is currently atĀ RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre & HospitalĀ and is currently awaiting his forever home.
Patrick was rescued by RSPCA inspectors in North Wales in 2022 – along with 12 other animals. The pets were removed as the owner was in breach of a disqualification ban and the animals were found in poor conditions.
Three-year-oldĀ PatrickĀ was found to have an ear condition and staff atĀ Ā RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre & HospitalĀ placed him on medication for several weeks.
Kennel and cattery supervisor at the centre, Emma Finnimore, said: “Patrick’s condition has left him with a mild head tilt which has got better over time – but it is still noticeable.
“Poor Patrick has had a rough time, when he arrived he was so nervous and he would hide in his bed where he felt safe.
“It took a few weeks for him to gain the trust of the staff and he really began to enjoy having a fuss made of him. However, due to his medication and his frustration of being an un-neutered male cat in a cattery his behaviour sadly deteriorated again.
“Once he was neutered we saw another change in his behaviour for the better again.
“Due to Patrick’s poor start in life he lacks trust in people and he isn’t a normal pet cat, for this reason we feel he would be better suited to an alternative lifestyle as an in-between cat. This means he will live in a home being cared for but the new owner can not have too high an expectation from him.”
Patrick can be happy in the company of other cats so he could live with a feline friend in his new home, but he would prefer an all adult home and an owner understanding of his special needs.
