AMYA UK, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association UK, is thrilled to announce its flagship event of the year, the National Ijtema, expecting more than 5,000 young Muslims from across the UK. The Ijtema is set to take place from September 29th to October 1st at Kingsley, Hampshire.

The primary aim of the Ijtema is to deepen the understanding of Islam’s peaceful teachings among young Muslims. This year’s theme, centred around Salat (prayer), emphasises finding delight in worshipping one God through the five daily prayers. AMYA believes that empowering young Muslims with a profound understanding of their faith will enable them to become better individuals and contribute positively to society.

AMYA UK follows the guidance of its founder, His Holiness Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad, the second Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, who emphasised that “A nation cannot be reformed without the reformation of its youth.” AMYA encourages its members to practice the peaceful teachings of Islam and actively engage in charitable and environmental initiatives to serve the country they call home.

Prayer

One of the core objectives of the National Ijtema is to elevate the academic proficiency of youth through a series of academic competitions. Participants will engage in essay writing, poster competitions, and presentations, promoting a thirst for knowledge and personal growth among the youth. The event also offers opportunities for healthy competition and teamwork development through sports such as football, cricket and volleyball.

The National Ijtema is a remarkable logistical achievement, converting farmland into a tent city for 28 days. The setup, takedown, and daily operations are orchestrated by dedicated AMYA UK volunteers, who invest thousands of man-hours to ensure the event’s success. All attendees can enjoy hot and cold meals throughout the three days and enjoy a unique Tent City experience, pitching their own tents.

This year’s event promises a diverse array of competitions and experiences, including an exciting BBQ MasterChef competition, an immersive dome experience allowing visitors to explore the Islamic Holy place Mecca in virtual reality, and workshops on car maintenance and survival skills to empower youngsters with essential life skills.

Flight Simulator Training

The National Ijtema will feature external exhibitors like The British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Airforce, and Surrey Police, offering hands-on experiences such as flight simulators, reaction tests, and interactions with police equipment, adding an educational and engaging dimension to the event.

The highlight of the National Ijtema will be the concluding address delivered to the youth by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
