Amazing Grace Williams has raised over £1,200 through selling bracelets and bought 50 Christmas presents for Carmarthenshire families supported by Action for Children  Her fundraising efforts and donation collecting meant that over 200 in presents in total were distributed across the county.  Grace (8), was inspired by mum, Kirsty who was part of the Action Squad that put on a fundraising ball for the charity in October, raising £14,000.

She picked the presents herself from the Works branch in Llanelli and helped deliver them to the delighted Action for Children Family Support Service in the town.  Grace said: ‘I wanted to do something myself after hearing about my mum’s fundraising for Action for Children.  I like the thought of helping families in Carmarthenshire and made bracelets to sell locally to buy them Christmas presents.  I raised more than I thought I would, I’m really pleased.’

Mum, Kirsty added: ‘I’m so proud of Grace.  She’s so caring and just has a lovely heart.  She heard what we were doing with the ball and was determined to do something too.  There’s not been a backward step as Grace has made and sold the bracelets, picked the presents and helped us take them to Llanelli.  She’s an inspiration to us all, it’s been an amazing effort.’

Sue Marsden, Practice Team leader at Action for Children’s Carmarthenshire family support services, took delivery of the presents.  ‘We are so grateful to Grace for her kindness and generosity.  The families were delighted and commented on how thoughtful the present choices were reflecting the care and knowledge Grace put into her shopping trip.  Too many of our families won’t be able to buy Christmas presents this year so this will make a huge difference to families who need it most.  We’re overwhelmed by her efforts, she really is Amazing Grace.’
