The latest album review is the new one from Shed Seven A Matter of Time, it’s the bands 6th studio album, but surprisingly their first number 1, it follows their 2017 release instant pleasures which got as high as number 8 on the UK album chart. The band were formed over 30 years ago in York, made up of members Rick Witter, Tom Gladwin, Paul Banks, Tim Willis and Rob Maxfield. Known for singles including Chasing Rainbows and Going for Gold, they broke on to the music scene during the rise of the BritPop era.

Here is my review of each song from the album which will be marked out of 10.

1. Let’s Go 8/10

2. Kissing California 8/10

3. Talk Of The Town 7/10

4. Let’s Go Dancing 8/10

5. In Ecstacy Featuring Rowetta 7/10

6. Tripping With You Featuring Laura McClure 8/10

7. Let’s Go (Again) 7/10

8. Real love 9/10

9. F: K: H 8/10

10. Starlings 9/10

11. Ring The Changes 8/10

12. Throwaways Featuring Peter Doherty 8/10

What a fantastic album from Shed Seven, listening to it I was taken back to the late 90’s that BritPop era, imaging the likes of Suede, Bluetones, Oasis, Pulp, blur amongst others of the same era.  These bands definitely went on to inspire the likes of the 1975, Arctic Monkeys, kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, I would certainly recommend this album, it’s certainly one I’ve enjoyed listening to for some time, an overall score for 8/10
