Carmarthenshire County Council has been supporting businesses across Carmarthenshire through its Shared Prosperity Fund Business Anchor [SPF]. The anchor aims to strengthen businesses at all stages of their development, to start, sustain, growth and innovate.

An example of businesses receiving support is Precious Plastic, who will be utilising space in 1 Stepney Precinct from 24 January to 22 March 2024. This allows company, Blueprint, an opportunity to pilot their project on a pop-up basis.

Precious Plastic aims to reduce waste and promote sustainability by producing useful products from plastic waste. The space that has been offered to Blueprint will be utilised as a venue to hold workshops with the local community, as a drop off point for plastic to be recycled and a retail space to purchase products made from recycled plastics. This space will be open to the public from 12 February 2024.

Cllr. Hazel Evans, Carmarthenshire County Councilā€™s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism said:

Funding provided by SPF into the county is significantly benefitting businesses in Carmarthenshire as part of the Councilā€™s commitment to support economic development in local communities. I would encourage local businesses to visit the Shared Prosperity Fund page on the Councilā€™s website to find out what support is available to them under the Supporting Local Businesses fund.
