The library has achieved the National Coding Week Awards Certificate. Its digital team delivers IT services throughout Carmarthenshire Libraries where they will support and help users to access the libraries’ online services.
Carmarthenshire County Council executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “I’m delighted that Llanelli Library has achieved this award and would encourage people to make use of the wide range of services on offer. They can do so knowing that trained staff are on hand to help.”
Online services can be accessed by visiting www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk/libraries through PCs, tablets and telephones which have internet connection.
Free WI-Fi connection is available to all borrowers in all Carmarthenshire Libraries.
Membership is free – proof of ID and address is needed when joining.
As well as accessing the library’s online catalogue, members can access numerous online services free such as Ebooks, Zinio magazines, Borrowbox Ebooks & Eaudiobooks, Theory Test Pro (UK driving theory test), GoCitizen (British citizenship test), Access to Research ( academic articles and journals), Ancestry.co.uk and Findmypast.co.uk, Ziptales (online literacy ‘library’ for children aged 4-13), and Credo (online reference service).
Further services coming soon: Comics Plus (digital graphic comics and novels), Transparent Language Online (over 100 language courses), Atomic Training (online software training), IndieFlicks (independent films), Universal Class Training (hundreds of a broad range of courses), Press Display (over 3,000 daily and weekend, national and international newspapers).
