The next general election will be an important one. So why vote Plaid Cymru in the next general election?

Our communities have suffered almost fifteen years of cruel Tory cuts and chaos. We can’t take anymore. But Labour don’t represent real change either.

The thing is, the next general election doesn’t have to be a choice between red or blue.

In Wales, you can vote for something different. A political party that represents real change, hope and a voice for Wales in Westminster.

Here are five reasons why you should vote for Plaid Cymru.

1. We are the only party that will put Wales’ best interests first

Could Plaid Cymru turn the Welsh Tories' scandal to their advantage?

Plaid Cymru is the only party fighting for fairness for Wales.

We’re the only party demanding a fairer funding  deal for Wales so we can invest in our economy, NHS and schools.

We are the only party  demanding the billions owed to us in rail funds from the England-only HS2 project so we can connect our communities, north to south.

And we are the only party demanding more powers over our natural resources and economy so we can build an economy fit for the future by creating well-paid green jobs.

You can always count on us to put Wales’ best interests first in Westminster.

2. We’ll be Wales’ voice in Westminster, not Westminster’s voice in Wales

In Plaid Cymru, you have candidates rooted in their communities. Strong local champions who’ll be Wales’s voice in Westminster – not Westminster’s voice in Wales.

Plaid Cymru MPs have an amazing track record of standing up for the communities they represent.

Because we understand the challenges you face and what matters to you.

A vote for your local Plaid Cymru candidate will mean a vote to elect an MP that will work day in day out to demand fairness for Wales and the powers we need to make us the successful ambitious nation we all know it can be.

And, unlike other parties, we don’t answer to any bosses in London.

3. Because this is not as good as it gets for Wales

From health workers caring for our families to small businesses doing all they can to try to get the economy moving.

From community food banks reaching out a helping hand to those producing the food on our tables.

Wales is nothing without its people.

And that’s who Plaid Cymru is proud to fight for.

We’re not just fighting for the people of Wales of today – we’re fighting for a better future for future generations too.

Wales has a long and proud industrial past – and despite the efforts of the UK Government we want to give it a future too. We demand a just transition to the greener future our children deserve. We’ll make the most of our natural resources, harnessing our seas, saving and creating jobs, urban… and rural.

Plaid Cymru will always make it out business to fight for jobs and investment, for opportunities for our young people, for fairness so we can unlock our ambition.

4. We’ll help get rid of the Tories

Tories remain restless for excitement as the nation loses trust in their delivery

The Tories have crashed the economy and left hard-working people to pay the price.

Instead of fixing things, the Tories have now resorted to fighting amongst themselves or worse – picking on the more vulnerable in our society, to try and distract from the chaos they’ve caused.

14 years of austerity has left our public services cut to the bone.

We just can’t take anymore and a vote for a strong Plaid Cymru MP that will fight for Wales in Westminster will help get rid of the Tories.

And yes, in Wales, you CAN vote Plaid Cymru to stop the Tories.

5. We’ll stop Labour taking Wales for granted

It’s a sad fact, but Labour take Wales for granted.

Their poor record in government in Wales, be it on the NHS, education or the economy, speaks volumes. They consistently avoid scrutiny. And their new leader already has serious questions to answer about his judgement around dodgy donations.

In London, we’re seeing u-turn after u-turn, and still no pledge of fairer funding for Wales.

Keir Starmer doesn’t care about Wales. He’s offering more of the same. The same economic policies that have left our communities struggling and bankers raking in the profits. The same refusal to give Wales the £4bn we’re owed in HS2 cash. The same admiration, even, for Margaret Thatcher!

Standing up for Wales means more than just getting rid of the Tories. It means standing up to whoever is in power in Westminster – red or blue. With a tory-wipeout on the cards, Wales needs a strong voice in Westminster that will hold Keir Starmer’s feet to the fire make it known to Labour that they can’t ever take Wales for granted.
