St John Ambulance Cymru is gearing up for its exciting Raise Your Buckets campaign, which will encourage people to fundraise and also help them stay safe while enjoying the sun’s rays.

The first aid charity for Wales is encouraging people to support its Raise Your Buckets campaign by purchasing a bucket hat or by arranging a fundraiser this year, all in support of the charity’s lifesaving work in communities across the country.

Last year saw the first ever Raise Your Buckets campaign, and you may have seen St John Ambulance Cymru volunteers holding a bucket collection at your local supermarket or wearing bucket hats at a local event. This year, St John Ambulance Cymru wants more people to get involved by arranging a fundraising day or a sponsored event.

St John Ambulance Cymru bucket hats are officially available to order online in a bright yellow or a classic white, for a suggested donation of £5-£10. Last year the charity’s bucket hats reached as far as Australia and New Zealand, and were a hit with members of the public here in Wales. Each hat sold as part of the campaign will be contributing to a safer future for communities across the country.

The campaign will also see summer safety advice shared across the charity’s channels, to ensure people are enjoying the sunny weather as safely as possible.

James Cordell, Partnership and Relationship Manager at St John Ambulance Cymru, commented: “Raise Your Buckets is the perfect opportunity to get your workplace, school or community group engaged with some fundraising as the weather starts to warm up.

“Schools could hold a ‘dress down day’ and workplaces could arrange a bake sale or wellbeing walk.

“The money you raise will be supporting the essential services that St John Ambulance Cymru provides in local communities, such as free first aid demonstrations for schools and clubs, so your support really could mean the difference between a life saved and a life lost.”

St John Ambulance Cymru are committed to enhancing the health and wellbeing of people in Wales through vital first aid treatment, transport and training. Volunteers are the beating heart of the charity, and funds raised as part of Raise Your Buckets will be supporting their essential work.
