The cycle path network around Johnston has been improved with the addition of a 1km off-road section.
The latest addition provides a handy link between the new Bulford Road and Johnston, with access to shops, passing the Railway Station and sports field, and connecting with National Cycle Route 4 at Orchard Court.
The route is also rich in scenic value, with views over the Preseli’s, and passes through farmland on either side that is rich in wildlife
Funded from the Welsh Government’s Local Transport Fund, the scheme contributes toward increasing traffic-free provision for cyclists and walkers.
Cabinet Member for Transportation and Events Councillor Rob Lewis said: “There has been an increase in the number of cyclists around Pembrokeshire in recent years and as an Authority we have invested heavily to increase provision for them and this path is proof of that.
“I’ve no doubt this path will be well used by cyclists and it also provides a safe, scenic, circular walk for walkers and pedestrians.”
