TMNT 2: OUT OF THE SHADDOWS Review.

As a TMNT fan I’ve been looking forward to this sequel for a while. Back in 2014, a brand new awesome reboot re-introduced the Cowabunga brothers with a new realistic take on the franchise, but still gave it that 12-inch slice of humour as should be done. Let’s face it, it did start off as a kids cartoon series after all. But also gave us a new insight into the emotional canvass for each of the four brothers.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadow’s gives a much juicier plot line for this returning edition as the turtles are not so much remaining underground in this one. But leaving to go on missions to find alien pieces of machinery before someone more dangerous can get their hands on them…

Oh and they also have a garbage truck as a war-truck undertaking a whole new kind of kick-assery while April O’Neil’s (Megan Fox) remains an important character, as a head-strong, self-assured, free spirited journalist which is admirable.

First off, the first TMNT film had a great story to it. Really good origin base, good scenery, excellent graphics, but they could’ve toned it down with Shredders look a little. Bitt of an overcompensation thing if you ask me.

Second, Out of the Shadows completely blows the first one out of the water. As we get to see in this one, Shredder is offered some help from a nihilistic alien brain with tentacles who all we Fans know as Krang, who makes super-soldiers from two dumb-dumb criminals, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (Stephen Farrelly). Who are turned into a rhino and a warthog. And I have to say they got these two characters down to a tee. They are exactly as I remember from when I used to watch the old cartoons as a child. Now Krang’s pretty awesome. A little larger than the original but, still pretty awesome. And I was glad to see they went back to basics with Shredder this time.

It was interesting to see a new take on Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) in this one. Never thought I’d see him as a police officer though! And considering that Stephen Amell plays Green Arrow in my opinion just makes this film much more awesome and I don’t care if anyone disagrees.

So to sum up, I enjoyed the characters, I enjoyed the plot line and the graphics and have decided to give this film an eight out of ten… maybe eight and a half!
