Taking the top spot for the most Instagrammable mountain in the UK is Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in the Eyri (Snowdonia) national park. The highest mountain in Wales, the 1,085 summit is not only tall but apparently ready for the gram, with a whopping 544,313 posts using the hashtag #snowdon! The beautiful peak and the surrounding area is a well loved holiday destination with plenty of hotels and holiday cottages to stay in, so it’s no surprise it attracts visitors from all over the world, all waiting to get the perfect picture!

#2. Ben Nevis, Lochaber

Taking second in the rankings is Ben Nevis in Lochaber in Scotland, aka the tallest mountain in the UK at  1345m. The peak, just north of the town of Fort William, has a racked up 283,297 posts on Instagram, with tourists and locals alike keen to share the stunning natural beauty of the summit. A popular destination for walkers and climbers keen on conquering the UK’s tallest peak as well as being known for its natural beauty, it’s no surprise the mountain comes so high in the rankings.

#3. Pen y Fan, Brecon Beacon

Coming in third place with 188,216 posts on Instagram is Pen Y Fan, in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) national park. The second Welsh mountain to make the top 3, Pen Y Fan might be smaller than Snowdon but the peak still boasts extraordinary beauty, with panoramic views of the surrounding park. There are camp sites, hotels and holiday cottages across Brecon Beacons for those looking to experience the beauty for themselves this summer.

The Lake District has the most Instagrammable mountains in the UK

With four mountains found in the top ten, the Lake District National Park in Cumbria is clearly the place to go if you’re seeking stunning mountain views. Scafell Pike, Helvellyn, Catbells and Blencathra (Saddleback) all rank inside the top ten. There are 214 recognised mountains in the Lake District, and the park is home to ten of the tallest mountains in England, ensuring you can get your fix of both high peaks, beautiful views and interesting climbs.
