Yee-har comedy tonic!
LLANELLI Little Theatre start off the spring 2012 season with a rootin’Â tootin’ comedy Tonto Evans.
Ray ‘Tonto’ Evans is an ex-miner, country and western fanatic, given to dressing up as a native American, feathered headdress and all, has come into money. He dreams of visiting the wild west and eating beans by the campfire, but Mair, his long suffering wife of 30 years has other ideas. They wrangle non-stop, while their son and dozy wife prepares for a trip to Disneyland with their share of the windfall.
But all their plans are put on hold by a murder enquiry conducted by the other son who happens to be the overly enthusiastic local plod. Where will it all end and how? The barbed exchanges come thick and fast as the story unfolds.
Written by one of South Wales’s favourite comedy playwrights Frank Vickery; it is one of his most ingenious comedies, packed with laugh out loud one-liners and moments of pure slapstick.
Tonto Evans is directed by Kathy Bowen and the cast of six are the familiar Little Theatre faces of Graham Phennah, Sonia Harries, Gerry Larkin, Marie Edwards and Julian Murphy who as ‘Tonto Evans’ will be making his 60th appearance for Llanelli Little Theatre having joined back in 1976. Newcomer Hefin Rosser will also be making his debut.
Tonto Evans runs for four nights from Wednesday, May 2nd to Saturday, May 5th at Pontlliw Village Hall, Pontlliw, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7.50 and are available on the door and at Bizy fingers in Llanelli market.
