As the new sporting season kicks off, improvements to sporting facilities in the County, funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund [UKSPF], will provide a boost to many teams.

One of the largest improvements will be the development of a new 3G sports pitch at Llandovery Rugby Football Club, this is a community led initiative which will be accessible to local sports clubs and schools. Additional improvements include LED Floodlighting, spectator viewing area and new paths surrounding the pitch.  You can find out more about this development by visiting our website.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, Cllr Hazel Evans commented:

Investment into our County’s sports club is a great way to encourage the community to lead heathier and more active lives by participating in club sports. This funding means the Council can carry out necessary work and improve the experience of users and spectators at Carmarthenshire’s sporting venues.
