The Carmarthenshire Action Squad, set up to help families in the county supported by Action for Children have raised £11,046 through a charity ball held at the Parc y Scarlets stadium in Llanelli.

Inspired by the work the charity does and high child poverty rates in the county, Kirsty Williams (Kirsty Williams Mortgage Solutions) and Sarah Maclean (Sarah Maclean Mortgages) put on the prestigious Llanelli black tie ball after a successful inaugural event last year, as part of their drive to give back to the Carmarthenshire community.

Over 170 guests enjoyed dinner, auctions, a raffle and dancing the night away to local soul band, Gimme Some Lovin.

The squad said: ‘It was another brilliant night at Parc y Scarlets with 170 members of our business community coming together to have fun, party and make a real difference to families in our community, as well as raise vital awareness of the great work that Action for Children do.

‘As mothers and businesswomen, we’re supporting Action for Children who help protect children and offer support to families across Carmarthenshire. We’ve raised nearly £25,000 for the charity since we started and for us, this is only the beginning. We’ve seen the difference the money makes with the array of trips and activities that families love and appreciate and we want to keep giving back and help as much as we can. Roll on next year! We are going all out for Halloween.’

It’s hugely appreciated by all our staff and Carmarthenshire families supported by Action for Children.’
