With New Year’s Eve fast approaching and tickets for the hottest gigs in Cardiff selling out, it’s time to start putting some plans in stone. Fortunately, we’ve compiled a list of the most exciting events, with a range of options to suit those looking for an intimate dinner, a wild party, and everything in between.

Casino Gala at Courts Restaurant

This year, the Courts restaurant is transforming into a Vegas-style casino, with professional croupiers hosting games of blackjack and roulette. For anyone unfamiliar with how casino games work, it could be worth playing roulette, blackjack, or casino jackpot slots at an online casino to familiarise yourself with the rules and payout mechanisms of the games.

Tickets are available for only £100 per person, visitors will be treated to canapés on arrival, a three-course meal, performances from Drag King Justin Drag, and an after-party set from DJ Stacey. The event begins at 6.30 PM and includes a midnight firework display to ring in the new year.

Dine at The Ivy Asia

The Ivy is an up-market restaurant that has become a British institution, with Cardiff’s iteration offering a pan-Asian menu a short walk away from the Cardiff Market. On New Year’s Eve, the restaurant will throw a party that includes dinner, immersive entertainment, and DJs.

The set menu will include Yellowtail Sashimi with Truffle, Salt & Pepper Beef Fillet, and Lobster Rendang Curry among other culinary delights. Spaces are limited, with tickets priced at £125 per person. The evening begins at 6.30 PM and concludes at 11.30 PM, giving guests enough time to catch the city’s traditional fireworks display.

Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland is already in full swing, with the attraction remaining open over the New Year’s period. The event includes an undercover ice rink and Ice Walk at Cardiff Castle, a plethora of food and beverage stalls, and many other attractions to keep visitors entertained into the early hours.

On the City Hall lawns, there is an Alpine-themed adult retreat and a stage packed with a roster of entertainment. The evening will culminate with a fireworks display that attracts large crowds of midnight revellers. While entry is free, visitors interested in attractions such as ice skating may want to book in advance.

Old Skool Bingo at Walkabout

For New Year’s Eve, Old Skool Bingo is throwing a party to remember, with several rounds of bingo interspersed between R&B DJ sets. There is a full schedule of entertainment planned, including dance competitions, bingo challenges, and karaoke. From 10.30 PM, ticket holders will then be granted entry into its NYE House Party event that concludes in the early hours.

Entry and a bingo game cost around £20 per person, with group packages available to secure a table of four. Guests can also purchase food and beverages at the venue, meaning there’s no need to weather the busy crowds outside.

Whether a casino-themed restaurant night, a pan-Asian banquet, a Winter market, or R&B bingo, there’s something for everyone in Cardiff this New Year’s Eve. Just be sure to book quickly to secure a place as these events promise to be popular.
