  • Dr. Jana Denzel is the early 13/8 favourite to win Lord Sugar’s investment – ahead of salon owner Aoibheann Walsh (15/8) and hair transplant consultant Carlo Brancati (2/1).
  • The show’s youngest contestant, animation entrepreneur Jordan Dargan, is the narrow 7/4 favourite to be fired first.
The Apprentice returns for a 19th series on Thursday January 30th, as 18 candidates begin the battle for Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment.
Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, Lord Sugar’s trusted advisors, will once again oversee the candidates’ weekly tasks, but the business tycoon will have the final say on who is fired each week, and, ultimately, whose business he will invest a quarter of a million into.
Ahead of the new season, Gambling.com TV Guru James Leyfield has assessed the contestants and put together odds and expert commentary on who will be the winner, and who will be fired first – please see below.
“It’s early days, but cosmetic dentist Dr. Jana Denzel will head into the first episode of the series as the marginal 13/8 favourite to triumph – and end the series with the biggest smile.
He counts Hollywood A-Listers and Grammy Award-winning musicians among his clientele at a leading Harley Street cosmetic dentistry practice, and that could stand him in good stead to impress Lord Sugar, Karren and Tim.
Irish hair and bean salon owner Aoibheann Walsh launched her own venture aged just 24, and she claims to be ‘one of the most sought-after artists in Ireland’.
Aoibheann is 15/8 second favourite to land Lord Sugar’s investment, but hair transplant consultant Carlo Brancati (2/1) and Knightsbridge salon chain owner Nadia Suliaman (5/2) will hoping they can avoid being hair today and gone tomorrow.
Nadia claims she can ‘turn dreams into reality’, while virtual assistant company owner Chisola Chitambala (3/1) insists she is a ‘natural leader’.”
“Animation entrepreneur Jordan Dargan heads into the process with the dream of turning his ‘one-man band into an orchestra of the world’s most talented 3D artists’.
However, Lord Sugar might call cut on his chances of victory and tell him: “You’re fired”. Boastful talkers don’t always fare too well in the boardroom.
Jordan is this year’s youngest candidate, and the initial 7/4 favourite to be fired first.
Like Jordan, Melica Moshiri doesn’t appear to lack confidence, as she says: ‘Lord Sugar will be making a big mistake if he doesn’t invest in me.’
Melica is 5/2 third favourite to be fired first, just behind 2/1 chance Dean Franklin.
Air conditioning company owner Dean has done well with his business, but admitted one of his reasons for signing up for The Apprentice was to ‘become comfortable with being uncomfortable’.
It could certainly get uncomfortable if he is among those in contention for Lord Sugar’s first firing of series 19.”
