Welsh actor Rhys Ifans is second favourite to play Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter TV series.
Cillian Murphy was expected to play Voldemort (4/7) in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series, but, as if by magic, he could now be cast as Professor Quirrell.
Oscar-nominated actress Janet McTeer has emerged as the frontrunner to portray McGonagall.
Paapa Essiedu is into 2/5, from 8/13, to play Professor Severus Snape.
Ted Lasso actor Brett Goldstein is the 5/6 favourite to take on the huge role of half-giant Hagrid in the new series.
Speculation has been swirling around the wizarding world for months about who will be cast in the hotly-anticipated Harry Potter TV series.
But one part seems to be sorted, after Conclave actor John Lithgow recently confirmed he will be playing Professor Albus Dumbledore.
It may not come as a huge surprise to Potterheads, because Lithgow was 4/6 favourite to land the part.
Gambling.com’s Entertainment expert, James Leyfield has been monitoring the world of Harry Potter and has created markets about the upcoming TV series.
Murphy’s Double Role
Cillian Murphy was expected to play Voldemort (4/7) in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series, but, as if by magic, he could now be cast as Professor Quirrell.
He’s 8/11 to be named as the professor, who was the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’s Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher during Harry’s first year there.
McGonagall Frontrunner Janet
Oscar-nominated actress Janet McTeer has emerged as the frontrunner to portray McGonagall.
Sources have told Deadline that the Ozark star is in negotiations to take on the coveted role, and she is the 4/6 favourite to land the part.
However, if McTeer doesn’t land the part of McGonagall then Lord of the Rings star Cate Blanchett (5/6) or Game of Thrones actress Michelle Fairley (Evens) could be waiting to nab the role.
Others who are thought to be in contention, should HBO not opt for McTeer, include Sex Education actress Gillian Anderson, who is 11/8, and The Flight Attendant actress Michelle Gomez.
Some believe Gomez has the perfect look of a younger McGonagall, and she is just 6/4 to take on the role, followed by 2/1 chance MyAnna Buring.
Fiona Glascott portrayed a young McGonagall in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise, and she is an 8/1 outsider to land the part.
Paapa Snape
Paapa Essiedu is into 2/5, from 8/13, to play Professor Severus Snape.
Elsewhere, Ted Lasso actor Brett Goldstein is the 5/6 favourite to take on the huge role of half-giant Hagrid in the new series.
Nick Frost (6/4) and Ciaran Hinds (13/8) look set to be his main competition for the prodigious position.
