Bishop’s Park in Abergwili is opening its doors to the public this Saturday to explain plans to conserve its nationally important cultural, historic and ecological features.

Carmarthenshire County Council and the Church in Wales have a vision for a Park and Museum for all, and the Tywi Gateway Trust is helping with its development, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

With the County Museum at its heart, the Bishop’s Park will therefore be conserved, revitalised and managed through an innovative and sustainable stewardship of a shared cultural heritage.

This Saturday there will be a guided walk to explain the historical background and the planned conservation and regeneration of the park from 2.30-4pm. Stout footwear is recommended. There is no charge but donations are welcome.

To reach the Bishop’s Park, take the A40 westbound from Carmarthen and follow the brown sign for the Museum.
