New Parent Networking Groups Set Up

If you’re a parent whose child needs extra help and support, then you might be interested in some new parent network groups being held around Pembrokeshire this autumn.

The groups aim to give people the opportunity to meet other parents or carers in their local area who have similar issues facing children with additional learning needs, and share experiences over a coffee.

The parent network groups are being led by local parents and facilitated by an Inclusion Support Officer from Pembrokeshire County Council who will be on hand to give further advice and information if needed.

There are eight different groups, which are meeting in Narberth, Crymych, St Davids, Tenby, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Fishguard, and Pembroke.

“This is an ideal opportunity to chat with other parents and carers who might have some good advice for any issues you could be dealing with, or who you might be able to offer some support to yourself,” said Cllr Sue Perkins, Cabinet Member for Children and Lifelong Safeguarding.

The sessions are being held as follows:

Narberth (Bloomfield House Community Centre)

12th September, 6-7pm: 24th October, 10-11am: 5th December, 6-7pm.

Crymych (Cilgerran Hall)

12th September, 10-11am: 18th October, 5-6pm: 29th November, 10-11am.

St Davids (Oriel y Parc TIC)

13th September, 10-11am: 25th October, 5-6pm: 6th December, 10-11am.

Tenby (Learning Resource Centre)

22nd September, 6-7pm: 3rd November, 10-11am: 15th December, 6-7pm.

Haverfordwest (Pembrokeshire Archives)

26th September, 10-11am: 7th November, 6-7pm: 19th December, 10-11am.

Milford Haven (Cedar Court)

10th October, 6-7pm: 21st November, 6-7pm.

Fishguard (Fishguard Town Hall)

11th October, 5-6pm: 22nd November, 10-11am.

Pembroke (Foundry House)

20th October, 6-7pm: 1st December, 10-11am.
