Have you got something that’s broken and you don’t know how to fix it? Volunteers have organised a Repair Cafe in Llanelli to help out.

Llanelli residents are invited to bring along non-electrical items which volunteers will do their best to fix.

The Repair Café will be held at Llanelli Library on Saturday September 24 from 10am – 1pm and is being supported by Communities First.

The first Repair Café event was held in July with a number of volunteers who earned time credits and repairs included a scooter rebuild, bike puncture fixing and handbags being repaired. The evaluation feedback was positive from participants and volunteers.

An appeal is being made for more volunteers who can carry out such repairs as sewing on a button or fixing a bike chain.

Carmarthenshire County Council executive board member for regeneration and leisure Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “This is an excellent opportunity for people to have small repairs carried and for volunteers to earn some time credits. I’m sure it will prove as popular as the earlier Repair Cafe in the summer.”
