Don’t pull the plug on this zany idea or your summer will get ever wetter.
Fresh from the British Bathtubbing Championships Green Dragon Activities from Llanwrtyd Wells is bringing “bathtubbing” to Llanelli’s North Dock.
The British championships of this alternative water activity saw 73 entrants aged from 8 to 80-years or age take part in the British Bathtubbing championships held in Bristol early in June.
Llanelli will host the first Welsh open Bathtubbing event at the North Dock on July 29th.

County executive board member for leisure services Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “This is something that you could run hot or cold over but it sounds like a lot of fun.
“I am all for having as much variety of entertainment as to our fabulous Millennium Coastal Park and it does not matter of it wet or dry for people to be able to enjoy this.”
Organiser of the event Tony Bain from Green Dragon Activities said: The North Dock makes an excellent location for the Bathtubbing activities with flat calm water.
“Spectators will have a tremendous view of this hilarious event from the raised vantage points around the dock.
“Bathtubbing will also feature in this Years World Alternative Games and the World Bathtubbing championships will be held in Cardiff on the September 1st. “
The organisers hope a Llanelli event will develop in the future to an activity day full of water activities for the public to enjoy.
All ages are welcome to attend the event. Children under the age of 18 need permission from a parent or legal guardian and they need to attend with the child.
Online bookings can be found on www.greendragonactivites.co.uk after event expense’s profits and donations are forwarded to the Welsh Air ambulance.
