Lower Swiss Valley Reservoir

Meet at the ‘Mill Wheel’ memorial, opposite the ‘Harry Watkins’ pub in Felinfoel. We will walk a complete loop around the lower Swiss Valley reservoir. This walk, unfortunately, is not recommended for the disabled or prams as you do need to be very sure footed to walk this course. Walking boots or sturdy shoes are highly recommended as some parts of the walk can be very muddy, uneven and slippery! Any children must be well looked after by a responsible adult. It is a lovely refreshing walk with beautiful scenery all around. Please let us know if would like to join us.

Tuesday 27th September 2016
Pwll Ponds Walk

Meet at the Pavilion Cafe and then we’ll bimble along to Ashpit Ponds, around to Pwll Lagoons, returning to the cafe. Put 51.685613, -4.206418 in to google maps for directions to the meeting point.
Many species of birds frequent these areas including Mute Swan, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Coot and Moorhen. Water Rail, Pochard, Shoveler and Gadwall are also visitors. A great many songbirds can be heard in the area including Blackcap, Reed warbler, Sedge warbler, Cetti’s warbler and Chiff chaff.
