Scaffolding firm fined
A Swansea firm has been prosecuted for placing scaffolding on the highway without permission.
Access Scaffolding pleaded guilty to an offence contrary to section 169 of the Highways Act 1980 at Carmarthen Magistrates Court.

The prosecution was brought by Carmarthenshire County Council.
The court heard that although the company had had a permit in place for scaffolding at Heol Y Bwlch, Llanelli, it had expired.
Checks carried out by the council also revealed that Access Scaffolding Limited had previously been interviewed on two separate occasions regarding unlicensed scaffolding and had been issued a formal caution on the second occasion.
Company director Terrance Carroll admitted during interview failing to renew the permit for placing his scaffolding on the highway.
The company, which is based in Manselton, was fined £265 and ordered to pay £220 towards prosecution costs as well as a £15 surcharge.
Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “Carmarthenshire County Council is determined to tackle the problem of unlicensed scaffolding to ensure safety on the highway.”
