Based on true events of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig during the year of 2010. A tale of Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg) Jimmy Harrell (Kurt Russell) and Vidrine (John Malkovich) in a story that’ll have your heart in your throat and bring you to the edge of your seat. This event that has been said to be the worst oil disaster in recorded history.
You know for a two hour movie, Deepwater Horizon seemed to just fly by as I was watching it. It completely had my full attention all the way through for every minute of it. I even had half a large Coca-Cola Zero left by the end which is quite rare in my case!
Director Peter Berg has truly created something special. And brought to light a story that has opened our eyes… or at least mine anyway, can’t really speak for anyone else! But I see a lesson in this film. (A lesson that money whilst it’s important can certainly be seen as the most destructive influence on mankind’s history) just think, if a little more money was put into efficient inspection protocols then the men who died on that rig would be with their families right now.
To whomever reads this article after (or before) seeing this film, I urge them to keep that thought in mind. We can’t let money control our actions.
Point being that this film truly is an eye opener. Each performance given is just outstanding, especially from Mark Wahlberg and I would highly recommend to anyone that they see this film. I give Deepwater Horizon a rating of ten out of ten and would defiantly recommend it for a Golden Globe .
Thanks for reading.
