What a load of rubbish… Community action helps to clean up local area

Terry Davies, Plaid Cymru’s County Council candidate for Tyisha has taken action with others to clear the rubbish located in Llewellyn Street. Terry put party differences to one side and worked with other Councillors and residents who contacted the County Council Fly Tipping section to ask for the rubbish to be removed. Even though the rubbish was on private land, it was removed by the Council.

Terry said:

“Many residents contacted me about the rubbish in Llewellyn Street. Unfortunately, a few had been trying to contact their current Labour County Councillor but had received no reply. I was disappointed even further to discover that the County Council candidates for Labour in the ward had even done an online video saying they would take action although 2 weeks passed and nothing it was still there.

“After the problem was reported to the County Council’s Fly Tipping section, I was pleased to see that action was taken and the rubbish has now been removed. It’s laughable that Labour now try to be claiming the credit for this but after all it is election time so it’s not really surprising.

“I have lived in Tyisha for the last 55 years. It’s only when you live in the ward that you appreciate some of the challenges that we face every day. I’m just glad that the rubbish is gone and remain committed to working with people who want to secure a strong future for our community. We deserve better.”
