According to the results, there was a 13.6 per cent year-on-year UK job growth in November 2016. CV-Library commended the companies in the midst of the recruitment drive, particularly as the country remains in the midst of economic uncertainty.

But with the uncertainty in mind, salaries fell by 3.2 per cent year-on-year. On a sector basis, construction and agriculture had the largest declines with 22.9 per cent and 16.7 per cent respectively. Meanwhile, Leeds and Portsmouth were the cities with largest falls of 7.2 per cent and 5.2 per cent.

As well as the annual rise, UK job growth was also seen month-on-month too, with a 3.2 per cent rise in November on October. Despite this, application rates fell by 4.5 per cent month-on-month, which is attributed to a propensity to apply for roles in the New Year.

In terms of location, making its mark for the Northern Powerhouse, Sheffield led the way forward for UK job growth with a 28.5 per cent rise. It was followed by 23.1 per cent for Southampton, while Scotland also showed its strength as Glasgow and Edinburgh both secured an 18.4 per cent increase.

Elsewhere, manufacturing was number one for UK job growth sectors with a 37.7 per cent spike, followed by automotive in second with 37.3 per cent.
