Householders in Burry Port warned to keep doors locked following burglary

Residents living in Burry Port are being reminded to keep their doors locked after a woman woke up to find someone burgling her home.

The incident happened in Glanmor Terrace between 9am and 9.20am on Monday 6th August.

“A woman was sleeping and woke up to the sound of rustling coming from inside the house,” said PC Vanessa Vaughan. “She’s called out thinking it was her husband, but a stranger wearing a hooded top has put their head round the door, said sorry and made off.

“This person has taken the woman’s bag and purse containing bank cards, a Ben Sherman watch, ipod and a camcorder.

“Obviously she is shaken up following these events, and our inquiries are continuing. If anyone has information on this they can contact me at Burry Port Police Station.

“In the meantime, I want to remind homeowners to please keep their houses secure.”
